USEFUL INFORMATION

VISA REQUIREMENTS
Visas are issued by the diplomatic missions and consular offices,
the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the
Republic of Poland, as well as by the Migration Department under the
Ministry of Internal Affairs. Students should contact the nearest
Consulate of the Republic of Poland or www.msz.gov.pl
for more visa details.
- HOW TO GET TO BIALYSTOK
- Getting to Poland:
- Planes direct flights to
Warsaw and to other Polish cities (Gdansk, Kraków, Katowice,
Poznan, Wroclaw) are available from major European and US locations.
- Trains and buses from
most European cities
- Sea connections from Scandinavia
(Sweden, Norway, Denmark) to Gdansk, Gdynia and Swinoujscie
(most services have car-freight facilities).
- Getting to Bialystok
- From most Polish cities
by train or by bus
- COST OF LIVING
The cost of living is rather not inexpensive. For example:

- Boarding (average cost of

- HEALTH AND INSURANCE
Students should have valid health and accident insurance. Otherwise,
all medical costs will have to be covered by the students.
- LOCAL TRANSPORT
Trains are the most popular and relatively cheap means of transport
Buses - public and private transport available
Car - driving in Poland might be tedious and time consuming due to poor
condition of roads and lack of highways
Planes - destinations within Poland include: Warsaw, Gdansk, Kraków,
Poznan, Katowice, Wroclaw
Cycling - advised especially in quiet rural Poland; urban areas are
bike-unfriendly with few cycle paths
